Is able to teach best practices in citing quoted material, using citation software, finding resources online or in print, and vetting resources. Is able to create quality academic documents.
Growth Activities
The following activities have been identified to achieve comptency in Research and Publication in levels from Learner to Expert.
Identify the elements of quality publishing, such as use of fonts, styles, citations, and cross-references. Identify valuable and trustworthy resources (online and offline). Learn to effectively use styles and manage citations in various tools used in your area.
Assist users to clean up or reformat messy documents into tidy and consistent works. Assist users in the use of citation managing software, styles, and language tagging.
Able to teach appropriate tools and methods to produce or prepublish academic documents.
Train users in advanced publishing features of common WYSIWYG publishing tools, such as indexes, stylesheets, and cross references. Teach use of tools for XML-based publishing of Academic resources. Learn to customize the outputs of such tools.
