XLingPaper

XLingPaper is a way to author and archive linguistic papers or books using XML. Many of us prefer writing XLingPaper files with the XMLmind XML Editor. It makes writing XML much easier than other XML-oriented editors we've used.

This project contains not only the XLingPaper files, but also the configuration files for using XLingPaper with the XMLmind XML Editor.

For reasons why XLingPaper is a good choice, please see Simons and Black (2008) (http://www.sil.org/~blacka/papers/ThirdWaveWritingAndPublishing.pdf) for an explanation of the key notions and motivations. Then see Black (2008) (http://www.sil.org/~blacka/papers/XLingPaper.pdf) for how XLingPaper addresses these notions. (These are preprint versions of these papers.)

The XLingPaper configuration files for the XMLmind XML Editor work fully on Windows operating systems.  They mostly work on Ubuntu Linux and on Mac OS X, although the latter two do not yet support the XeLaTeX way of producing PDF, only the RenderX way.

The listed interface languages are for the XMLmind XML Editor.  The XLingPaper-specific dialogs and prompts are all in English.
