Cipher Music Font

This unicode font uses smart rendering (Graphite) to support the numeric musical notation used in Indonesia and other Asian countries. An InKey keyboard is provided for keyboarding the data, and LibreOffice Writer is the recommended editing software.

The font defaults to displaying musical slurs in Indonesian kepatihan mode (slurs below the notes), but also provides a mode that's more conducive to editing (slur tips only), and a third mode for Chinese jianpu (slurs above the notes). These modes are easiest to access if using the styles and macros in the provided template.

Google Input Tools

This utility is available either as a download for Windows (that integrates languages into the Windows language bar), or as a plugin for the Chrome browser. Permits typing in a variety of scripts, both Roman and non-Roman, and includes a visual keyboard and a predictive text toolbar, where it suggests words based on keys you have pressed. By my count, it looks like over 70 languages are supported, including Korean, Japanese, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Hindi, Punjabi, Malayalam, Arabic, Persia and others (this is not a complete list of all the non-Roman scripts).

Audacity

An audio editor that runs on all major platforms. It is oriented more toward music than phonetics and has only limited analysis tools. However, it can do noise reduction and has some useful editing tools, including the ability to modify individual samples and to change the amplitude envelope.

SILKin

SILKin is software designed to facilitate collection, analysis, and reporting of kinship terminologies. The program graphically displays genealogical structures and intelligently supports development of term definitions.

Webonary

Webonary gives language groups the ability to put their bilingual or multilingual dictionaries on the web with a minimum of technical help. Each dictionary is built around a search bar, which looks for a word throughout the dictionary, and returns the most relevant results to the top of the list.
